"My wife is very much into conservation and other environmental practices/principles. So to say that my watering of the lawn at upwards of three to six hours per week would drive her to distraction is an understatement. (We have over 15,000 square feet of lawn) My defence has always been … “to have a green lawn you have to water it a lot”.

In the spring and fall it’s not a problem … it’s in the Summer (the browning season when grass goes brown/dormant) when tensions rise in this house because of me ramping up the watering.  So in the interest of the “happy wife, happy life” principle, when I heard that I could have a green lawn with theoretically little to no water usage that sealed the deal for me.  Now the wife’s very happy!"  Roger Pellam.
