Who am I?
My name is Colin and I'm the CEO, CFO and general BOSS of "Simple Wood Creations" ;) Based in Toronto, I offer unique and not so unique wood "creations" at ridiculously affordable prices.

This was all derived from one of my hobbies ... wood working! Ironically my hobbies have always found a way to create an opportunity to create a service that I can offer to people. Another example of this can be seen here. Even my full time occupation came from another decades old hobby!
What's this site about?
Plain and simple? Selling some of the stuff that I make and/or have made! Not only that but I take requests from people to build stuff. Stuff with wood. :) This is where the "custom" comes in.

This site will probably never have a "variety" of stuff since it'll only list/show stuff that I've made for myself and/or things that are most requested from others in the past or are being currently requested. Also the things seen here are typically seasonal in nature. For instance, now that it's Spring you'll probably see things that are Spring related and are being currently requested. These creations can be made as shown here on the site (in the form and specifications that you see listed) or custom created for you.
Incidentally, at any given time there is only a small inventory that is maintained for the fulfillment of "quick orders". Typically creations are "made to order."
So how did this all start?
I've always been pretty good at "building things" and especially love working with wood.

As such, there has always been things that I've built around the house for my own use over the years and from time to time friends and family would ask me to build these items for them.

Well it got to a point where even though they would pay the cost of the materials, (and I'd make it for them "when I got a chance") it wasn't something I could keep doing without being compensated for my time.
See it had gotten to a point where these "things" were attracting THEIR friends and family and now even people outside of my circle started asking me to build "stuff".

Having said that, just in case you have the wrong impression that "simple" might mean sub standard quality, if you check out the gallery you'll see a project that I've done that's not so "simple". 😉
